Field Testing Underway in the eSCURB Project

Participants ride electric scooters while wearing eye-tracking glasses, which provide valuable insights into visual attention, hazard perception, and decision-making during rides. The study observes riders’ behavior and how riders interact with different types of infrastructure, including:

  • Fully separated bike/scooter lanes,
  • Mixed-traffic road sections, and
  • Sidewalk-based lanes.

These tests aim to evaluate how infrastructure design influences rider behavior and safety, with the goal of informing future urban mobility planning.

The project is co-funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (IPS-2024-02-3188) and the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (J5-60090) under the Weave Lead Agency Scheme.
